The Egyptian Community Celebrating the Afrian Cup
The Egyptian community celebrated winning the African cup yesterday. In my neighborhood the Egyptian community made up of the guards and labor gathered together and marched the streets with so much pride. I found myself joining their march, congratulating them and enjoying their victory as if it was our own (when is Jordan going to win any football cup?)
For me this was a reminder of my Arab identity… I realized that no matter how angry I get with the Egyptian government, I have very warm feeling towards the Egyptian people.
Congratulations for Egypt… inshalla they will always win and make the Arab world proud.
LOL I can imagine the excitement!I live with an egyptian so of course we had to celebrate….just like she celebrated with me when the Saints earned their way to the Super Bowl last week!
