Newspaper sellers, بياعين الجرايد
“منشان الله اشتري مني” قال لي محمد، الشاب اللي بيبيع الجرايد عند اشارة بيتي. ” اشتري مني خليني اشتري غدا للولاد، والله لسا ما استفتحنا و انت شايفة هالفياضانات”
شو اللحظة اللي تحولوا بياعين الجرايد من اصحاب مهنه لشحادين؟ وقت غلاء الأسعار اللي ضرب الأردن ب2007 و 2008؟ ولا الأزمة المالية ب2009؟ ولا كانت الأممر دائما هيك، بس انا ما كنت منتبهة؟
“Food’s sake buy from me” said Mohamed, the guy that sells newspapers at the traffic light near my house. “Buy from me, let me buy lunch for my children, I swear, I have not sold anything yet and you see these floods”
When was the moment that newspaper sellers were transformed into beggars? Was it the rise in prices that hit Jordan in 2007 and 2008? Or was it the financial crisis that hit the world in 2009? Or this is how it always have been, but I was oblivious?
للأسف هوه الموضوع من زمان هيك.. بتذكر من وأنا لسه بالمدرسة كان في صبي صغير ببيع جرايد وكان ديماً يقول اشتر مني أنا لسه ما أفطرت..
وفي عمو كبير ديماً على الدوار السبع برضو من وأنا بالمدرسه -سنة ٢٠٠٠- وهو ببيع جرايد هناك.. بس عمري ما شفتو بشحد.. هوه لليوم لسه موجود بموقعو.. فأمبنقدر إنعمم إنو كل البياعين بشحدوا..

شكرا على التعليق، بحس انه بيع الجرايد جزء من ثقافتنا، و اكيد كلامك صح، مش لازم انعمم. بس بالزمان ما كانت شحدة مقنعة هلأ كتير صارت شحدة.

Those newspaper sellers on traffic lights annoy the hell out of me, I say thank you and they’re still on the window talking even though i can’t hear them, I mean for god sake can’t you sense that I’m not interested ?

yeah… I see how it is annoying… but it is also sad….. i mean reducing professionals into beggars… Life is becoming too difficult in Jordan.

yesterday at work I kept clicking submit comment here bas it wouldn’t come up..is your site getting censored Madas? maybe you should consider talking about,avatar and posting youtube clips..but you won’t get a Lead Zeppelin visitor then
