I strongly believe that we eat, breath and live by stereotypes. Many of the stereotypes we have on the west are nurtured by the west, and many of the stereotypes of the west on us are nurtured by us. For the longest time, I have wondered what a real, educated Arab opinion was about this matter. The only thing I remember hearing in the US was about Pakistan's reaction which, per your article's point, was a stereo-typically violent reaction.
