Two Years later… Yaqubian building
As I was flicking through my pictures, I found those two… they were taken two years ago in the heart of Cairo… I was fascinated with the idea of a non-fiction fiction… and even though it was my least day in Cairo, I made it a mission to find out if the building was real or not….
True to my expectations, it was simply standing there… by the way the shooting did not take place in the real building it took place in a neighbouring building…it looked better in front of the cameras.

Hey!

It is a real building allright! Actually the guard was not very happy when we took the pictures… but we talked to him for a long time and he allowed us to keep them… he was a nice man who told us that many of the stories were real, and was describing to us the main characters… the book maybe is fiction, but it is based on some true stories

I don’t know the story, nor have I seen the movie..speaking of which..nice new theme!
the comments font is too small don’t you think? or my eyes are getting older?

depends on how old you are to start with
… the book is different… the one thing i will tell you about it is that it does not follow the usual way fiction is written… in reality there are five stories here that never interwine…not bad.

oh..its my role to be hitting on you! I’m not used to it the other way around..I get confused..and shy..
Sounds interesting,I’ll look up the movie if I ever get the chance.

So, this building is the setting for the story in the book? What is the story about? I am pretty lost here. I suppose if I could read Arabic it would help.

Mr. Anonymous, oh my… you are so old fashioned!
I am just teasing… it always amuses me when people complain about getting older…
I complain about it too… you know the freudian type of complaining… which is joking but in reaslity it is not… anyway.. this is a different discussion… but rest assured that i am not hitting on you
